Weddings @ PILGRIM

We are always thrilled when a couple makes the decision to commit their lives to one another through the ceremony of marriage and we are honored to be considered as the location for such a joyous event. We are pleased to perform legally-sanctioned marriage ceremonies for both non-members and members of Pilgrim Congregational UCC. We do require that the couple attend at least three pre-marital counseling with one of our ministers. We have found this not only helps ready the hearts and minds of the individuals making the commitment of marriage, but also helps in shaping the ceremony to coincide with the couple’s unique and special relationship.

We were overjoyed with the June 2015, US Supreme Court’s decision that marriage should be available to all. Pilgrim Congregational UCC has been an Open and Affirming Church; a covenant of welcoming people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions into our church home and Christian fellowship, since 1993. We recognize that gender queer, transgender and those who claim no gender affiliation also have the right to marry the person of their choosing and are happy to be a space where those wedding/union ceremonies can take place as well.

Marriage Fees

There is fee schedule for weddings at Pilgrim Congregational UCC. There is an honorarium for the minster performing the ceremony that may be discussed in conversation with the minister, a $700 fee for use of the Sanctuary, $150 on-site, day of, wedding coordinator fee and $100 janitorial fee. This includes one rehearsal the evening before the ceremony. Music

Our keyboardist receives first right of refusal to play piano or organ for your wedding or commitment ceremony, the fee for this service is $250.

Your Reception at Pilgrim

Pilgrim Congregational UCC has the ability to accommodate up to 200 guests for your reception in our Fellowship Hall. We have many couples have their reception directly after the ceremony, making the transition easy for guests and set up simpler for the couple! We can supply rectangular tables/chairs and help with the planning times for decorating, set up, security and other before event details. We do allow Beer and Wine with a signed policy (see PDF document here), but no hard liquor on the premises. Pilgrim has also hosted the rehearsal dinner in the hall directly following the rehearsal in the Sanctuary.
