On the final Sunday before Ash Wednesday, we celebrate Mardi Gras Sunday, complete with Dixieland jazz music, beads, and masks. After a tasty Cajun-inspired lunch, we crown a “Keeper of the Alleluia,” who helps us put away our Alleluias until Easter.

During Holy Week, we gather in the Fellowship Hall to commemorate the Last Supper, then listen to the story of Christ’s passion as the candles are extinguished one by one and we enter into silence.

We celebrate the Day of Resurrection with a joyous worship, including special music. The sanctuary is adorned with flowers, and we welcome the return of the “Alleluia” that has been hidden during Lent.

During Pride month in June, we invite other UCC congregations and the wider community to join us for a special service celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride.

On the first Saturday of October, close to the Feast of St. Francis, we gather on the front steps of the church and offer blessings to animals who are beloved by us.

On December 1, we gather to remember those loved ones who have died of AIDS and recommit ourselves to supporting those living with HIV/AIDS and to finding a cure.

On the third Sunday of Advent, each household receives a bell Christmas ornament to commemorate the year, a tradition that has lasted seven decades!

The Christmas Eve service begins with a concert of Christmas music, followed by a candle-lighting service in our historic sanctuary, filled with poinsettias and decorated for Christmas.
