Community Garden @ Pilgrim
In the summer of 2015, PILGRIM with assistance from the Ohio State University Extension Summer Sprouts program began a small community garden project on its front lawn on the corner of W 14th Street and Starkweather. The produce has been given out to clients of the food pantry. There is a lot of joy in being able grow our own food in the midst of the city and the opportunity to share the crops with our neighbors. PILGRIM expanded the program in Spring 2016 with three additional raised garden beds in the back lot of Pilgrim off Starkweather Ave.
Each year just under 300 lbs of fresh vegetables are harvested for PILGRIM’s Food Pantry.
